KAI HOʻOULU LLC

Founder

The founder of Kai Hoʻoulu, LLC, Heidi Guth, was born on Maui, Hawaiʻi and raised on St. John, Virgin Islands, with a park service father and an artist mother.  After being inspired during an environmental journalism fellowship studying Maori fishing rights in Aotearoa, and learning the invaluable roles played by female Maori attorneys in that fight, she received a law degree from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa’s William S. Richardson School of Law in 2002.

Heidi has worked for the Hawaiʻi Senate Majority Office, providing legal drafting about natural and cultural resources; for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs as an advocate, general counsel and their co-manager of Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument; and for the Polynesian Voyaging Society as their chief operating officer prior to and throughout Hōkūleʻa’s Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage.

Founded in 2014, Kai Hoʻoulu builds teams that vary with each project, bringing in specialized expertise to ensure that our clients receive the best possible outcomes in alignment with our mission.
